How your information is handled

Stubbs Contracting and construction provides Field Quote and Field Crew to the team members it invites. This page describes what the preview apps and this download site use, where it goes, and who can see it.

In short

  • This site's pages set no cookies and load no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
  • The apps contain no advertising or analytics software.
  • Sign-in and notifications use Google Firebase. Company work records are stored with Cloudflare under Stubbs Contracting and construction's account.
  • Managers can see company records. Employees see their own bids and the work assigned to them.
  • Both apps keep a copy of your accessible records on your phone so you can keep working without signal.

This download site

The site and the app files are served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages or files requested, to deliver and protect the site, and may keep it in logs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The page loads a small file describing the current app versions. Nothing you do on the page is sent anywhere else.

Your account

Access is invite-only. A manager adds your name, email address and role (manager or employee). You then sign in with Google, or with email and password, using that address. Firebase Authentication, a Google service, handles sign-in and passwords; Stubbs Contracting and construction's company service does not receive your password.

When you sign in, the company service checks your verified email address against the invitation and records your account identifier, name and email address as a company member. A manager can deactivate your membership, which blocks service access on your next request. A phone already offline can keep showing its downloaded records until it reconnects.

Company work records

Shared records are stored in a Cloudflare database operated for Stubbs Contracting and construction. Depending on how you use the apps, these include:

  • Bids: the measurements and scope you enter, the resulting customer price, the pricing version used, a bid number and who created it.
  • Pricing: the manager's private pricing configuration, and a separate published price sheet that employee devices receive.
  • Jobs and tasks: job titles, site addresses, crew notes, dates, assignees, material lists, checklist items and who completed them.
  • Questions: questions and replies on tasks, who wrote them, and whether they have been read.
  • Activity: a record of changes submitted from the apps and which account submitted them.

Who can see them

Managers can see and manage company records, including private pricing. Employees can see their own bids, the published price sheet and the jobs and tasks assigned to them. Employees do not receive the manager's private costs, rates or margins. Field Crew job records do not include bid prices.

Job and site details are whatever your company enters. Avoid putting unnecessary personal details about customers into notes or questions.

Notifications

The apps use Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google service, to alert you, for example when a question is posted. The company service stores your device's notification token, linked to your account and the app. Only a generic alert passes through Google's messaging service; job details, customer information, question text and prices are loaded inside the signed-in app.

On Android 13 and newer, Android asks whether to allow notifications. You can decline or turn them off in Android settings; the apps still work.

Firebase also processes device and app identifiers needed to provide sign-in and messaging. See Firebase's privacy information.

On your phone

Both apps keep a local copy of the company records you can access, along with changes waiting to sync, so you can work without signal. This copy is stored in the app's private storage. Signing out does not currently erase it; uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in Android settings does.

Field Quote also keeps its own estimates, quotes and settings on the phone. Android's backup and device-transfer features may include that file, depending on your phone's backup settings. Field Crew does not take part in Android backup.

Quote PDFs are created in temporary storage and leave the app only when you choose to share them. If you tap Map on a job, its site address is passed to the maps app you choose.

The apps request internet and network-status access and permission to show notifications, plus routine permissions declared by Android's sign-in, messaging and background-sync components, such as resuming sync after a restart and confirming a passkey with your screen lock. They do not request location, contacts, camera, microphone or file-storage access.

Keeping and removing information

The preview apps do not delete company records automatically. Ask your manager at Stubbs Contracting and construction about your account, the records kept about you, or removing them.

Changes

If the apps or services change how information is handled, this page will be updated and its date changed.
